President Akufo-Addo has indicated that the National Commission for Civic Education will be adequately resourced to enable the commission carry out its mandate.
The announcement from the President in a televised broadcast to give updates on the management of the coronavirus in the country comes shortly after calls from some quarters demanding the resourcing of the commission to actively carry out its obligation of vast public education.
The President said, “On Monday, 11th May, ten thousand domestically produced masks and more money will be delivered to the National Commission for Civic Education to enhance its capacity to undertake the important work that it has already been doing.”

The receipt of these items and funds will enable the commission, which has remained under-resourced especially in the era of the coronavirus pandemic, to adequately carry out its education mandate.
President Akufo-Addo also mentioned that funds were also being raised to commence the construction of the 88 health facilities across various districts of the country. This move is tipped to largely improve the health sector if realized.
