NITA Appeals to Corporate Ghana for Support Ahead of August Celebration
The National Information Technology Agency (NITA) has raised concerns about limited sponsorship as it prepares to host the 2025 edition of National ICT Week from August 25 to 29.
Although expectations are high for the event to deepen Ghana’s digital transformation agenda, the agency says insufficient funding could hinder the scale and impact of this year’s celebration.
Call for Increased Corporate Involvement
At the official launch of the event, the Director of Technological Services at NITA, Mr. Solomon Richardson, appealed to public and private sector stakeholders to support the initiative.
“Organising a programme of this magnitude demands significant financial backing. Unfortunately, we have not been able to secure enough sponsors,” he noted.
He emphasized that with stronger financial support, Ghana can unlock new digital opportunities—especially for the youth.
“Ghana can leverage ICT to create more value and employment across the digital chain. These are some of the results we’re already beginning to see,” Mr. Richardson added.
Empowering the Youth Through Technology
National ICT Week is designed to promote digital literacy, showcase innovation, and facilitate national conversations on technological advancement. The 2025 edition will feature:
- ICT exhibitions
- Tech workshops
- Youth-driven innovation initiatives
- Policy dialogues and networking opportunities
Organisers say the event is also critical in aligning stakeholders to support Ghana’s digital goals under the national development strategy.

More Than a Celebration—A National Digital Imperative
Mr. Richardson underscored that while National ICT Week is celebratory in nature, it also represents a larger national commitment to building a resilient digital economy. He warned that without the necessary financial backing, the event may not deliver its full potential.
“We’re urging sponsors, donors, and investors to support this national agenda—not just for this year, but as a long-term partnership,” he said.
