Meta has announced its latest smart glasses in partnership with Oakley. The limited-edition Oakley Meta HSTN model is priced at $499 and available for preorder starting July 11th. Other models featuring Meta’s technology will start at $399 and launch later this summer.
Similar to the existing Meta Ray-Ban glasses, the Oakley model includes a front-facing camera, open-ear speakers, and built-in microphones. Once paired with a smartphone, users can listen to music or podcasts, make phone calls, and interact with Meta AI. The AI can answer questions about what the user is seeing and even translate languages.
Targeted at athletes, these glasses have an IPX4 water resistance rating and boast double the battery life of the Meta Ray-Bans, offering 8 hours of use and a charging case that extends power for up to 48 hours. The built-in camera captures video in 3K, an upgrade from the 1080p of the Meta Ray-Bans.

The new lineup comes in five frame and lens combinations, all compatible with prescriptions for an additional cost. Frame colors include warm grey, black, brown smoke, and clear, with various lens options, including transitions. The limited-edition model features gold accents and Oakley PRIZM lenses.
Meta recently entered a multi-year partnership with EssilorLuxottica, the parent company of Ray-Ban and Oakley. The Meta Ray-Bans have sold over two million pairs, and EssilorLuxottica aims to sell 10 million smart glasses with Meta annually by 2026. “This is our first step into the performance category,” said Alex Himel, Meta’s head of wearables. “There’s more to come.”
