The anticipated launch for Apple’s enhanced Siri features was this spring, but they require additional development time. Company spokesperson Jacqueline Roy confirmed the delay in a statement to Daring Fireball, prompting Apple to clarify what “coming year” entails.
When Apple introduced Apple Intelligence at WWDC last year, it showcased features like Siri’s ability to understand personal context and act based on onscreen information. At that time, Apple indicated these features would be available “over the course of the next year,” leading to expectations for a spring release.
However, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reported that Apple executives, including software chief Craig Federighi, raised significant concerns about the functionality of these features during internal testing. Additionally, members of Apple’s AI division suggested that they might need to be completely rebuilt.
