Ahead of the scheduled primaries of the New Patriotic Party on Saturday, the central regional chapter of Drivers for Change has appealed to delegates in the Cape Coast North constituency to retain the incumbent Member of Parliament for the area, Barbara Asher Ayisi as its candidate.
The group, at a press briefing on Tuesday, indicated that the honourable MP had excelled in delivering her promise to bring positive change and development to the constituency in terms of infrastructure and the lives of the people.
Secretary of the group, Joseph Ocran told ATLFMNEWS that Mrs Asher Ayisi whilst a deputy minister of education supported a remarkable number of young people in the constituency to further their studies as well as push for the employment of others in numerous government establishments.

He also mentioned that an abandoned police station project at Abura, a suburb of Cape Coast had also been completed through the efforts of the MP.
“In November, 2019, sod was cut for the construction of inner city roads within the Cape Coast North constituency and Mrs. Asher Ayisi played a pivotal role in realising this, Mr. Ocran said.
The honourable Member of Parliament for Cape Coast North, Mrs. Barbara Asher Ayisi, is currently the deputy minister for Works and Housing. She faces stiff competition from three other candidates- Lawrence Ampah, Joseph Baidoo and Samuel Philip Longdon.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has published the confirmed list of candidates for its upcoming parliamentary primaries in constituencies where it has sitting Members of Parliament.
The primaries will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2020, on electoral area basis per the Electoral Commission’s designation.
