North Tongu Member of Parliament Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has remarked that American rapper Meek Mill’s apology to Ghanaians for the controversial music video he recorded in the Jubilee House should be accepted.
Mr. Ablakwa stated that the apology appears genuine.
“It does appear Meek Mill’s multiple apologies to Ghanaians are quite sincere and should be accepted by all,” he tweeted.
He went on to say that his one “serious reservation” is his allegation that he committed all of that heinous sacrilege and massive security violation while officials were blindsided.
“Is the President safe? Is Ghana safe? This has, without a scintilla of doubt, further justified earlier demands for urgent investigations and severe sanctions.”

Meanwhile, Mr Richard Ahiagbah, Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has distanced the Presidency from Meek Mills’ music video.
He said that the President had not authorized the music video.
“Meek Mill music’s video was not sanctioned by the Presidency. Its permission was not sought whatsoever for the use of the video. The musician has realized his indiscretion, apologized & taken down the video,” Mr Ahiagbah tweeted.
Following widespread outrage, Meek Mill apologized for the controversial music video and deleted it.
In a tweet, Meek Mill said, “my apologies to the people if any disrespected. We still gonna push to make the connection between black people in America and Africa.. What I’m trying to do is more than a video and you should see coming soon. My apologies to the office [of the President] also”.
On Thursday, December 29, 2022, he visited Ghana and performed at the AfroNation concert.
