The Central Regional Minister, Mad. Justina Marigold Assan has admonished businesses in the region to have confidence in themselves and let the public know what they are doing.
According to her, the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre’s (GIPC) investment plans for the region identifies agriculture, agro-processing, agribusiness, infrastructure, tourism and it is ready to support businessmen and women in the region to rekindle their businesses, identify and develop other businesses that are also springing up and sell business ideas to people to come into the limelight.
“Some businesses are there but nobody knows of them and so the sensitization is a fine opportunity to get more businesses into the limelight,” she said.
Speaking to the media at a regional sensitization workshop organized for businesses, Small and Medium-sized enterprises SMEs, Municipal and District Assemblies as well as traditional authorities on the need to make land available to businesses for investment purposes, she appealed to investors to come to the region since there are arable lands for every business opportunity.

The GIPC Regional Tour under the theme: “Grow Ghana, grow with Ghana” is aimed at educating stakeholders in the functions of the centre, and sensitizing them about the untapped economic potential and opportunities existing in the region.
On his part, Dr. George Asafo-Adjei, Head of Monitoring and Evaluation Division at the Ghana Investment and Promotion Centre indicated that the region was endowed with lots of fruits that could be processed into various products to generate income and create jobs.
“We’re here to educate the business community and MMDAs about what the center does and how we can support the expansion of firms,” he said.
He also indicated that the Central Region had competitive advantage in many areas which could be its pillar in the business sector if the right environment was created.
He further encouraged businesses to brace themselves for investment and partnerships because that was the trend for development.
