Drivers in Ghana have agreed to raise transportation fares by 15%.
According to a statement issued by the Road Transport Operators on Tuesday, February 22, “In line with the administrative arrangements on public transport fares, the Road Transport Operators have agreed to increase public transport fares by 15% after intense negotiations with stakeholders and in consideration of the plight of drivers, commuters, and the general public.”
“Due to current trends in the international market and its impact on domestic prices, we have resolved with stakeholders to review transport fares whenever the cumulative net effect is 10% or more,” it added.
