He said the presentation is their “widow’s mite to help frontline workers at the metro hospital” which is one of the Covid 19 facilities in the region.
He noted that, the group will continue to render support saying “as and when we are able to resource ourselves we will continue to help but we hope that this small token will be of use”.
On her part a Senior Nursing officer and coordinator of Covid 19 activities at the Cape Coast Metropolitan hospital, Frieda Serwaa Asiama Hosu who spoke on behalf of management, expressed her gratitude to MOBA Central group for their kind gesture and said, the items will help augment the many others they have received to take care of the Covid 19 cases at the facility.
She revealed that, the metro hospital has so far had 19 cases of coronavirus patients with 5 recoveries.
“Since the first case recorded in the central Region, so far we have received 19 within the facility out of which by God’s grace, we have discharged 5. We actually have some too that are under home base care because their homes are very conducive for care and they account for about 5 people. They are all doing well” She added
She also noted that the Presentation has come in timely saying “usage of PPE is very crucial as we change it as often as we have to. We tend to use it at every shift and on every interaction with the patient whiles rendering care”.
The coordinator of Covid 19 activities therefore called on all benevolent individuals and institutions to also support them to help render the needed care for the covid-19 cases at the facility.
The Central Region, per the Ghana Health Service data on cases of the virus, places fourth on the regional distribution table of Covid-19 infections in the country with 393 cases. The Greater Accra, Ashanti and Western regions come first, second and third respectively.
