The President, Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo has declared zero tolerance for corruption in the country.
Speaking at the National Anti-Corruption Conference in Accra on Friday, December 10, at Alisa hotel on the theme “Your right, your role: say no to corruption”, the president indicated that measures are being put in place to help curb this menace.
“Corruption has been a perennial problem for decades and everyone in this room is well aware of the dangers it poses to our nation”, he reiterated.
According to him, the government is going to pass anti-corruption laws and strengthen institutions to fight corruption in the country.
He said all corruption allegations on his appointees have been probed with some asserts belonging to them confiscated.
He said “they have confiscated the personal asserts of public officials believed to have been corruptible been acquired. We have declared zero-tolerance against corruption…. We appeal to the good sense of Ghanaians through moral crusades for integrity and given sermons on the sins of corruption”.
President Akufo Addo also called on all religious bodies to use their platforms to preach against corruption and launch moral crusades to help fight this national problem.
An anti-corruption celebration is observed every year to create awareness on anti-corruption.
