MTN Ghana Foundation, the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm, commissioned the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) School of Technology Lab on Monday, 22nd Mach,2021 to strengthen the distribution of technology-related programs.
Mr Franklin Manu, Chairman of the MTN Foundation, announced that the Foundation would also stock the GHS750,000.00 building, which took a year and a half to complete, with all of the requisite gadgets for successful teaching and learning.
COVID-19, he said, had shed more light on the role of technology in humans’ day-to-day operations and created possibilities for growth, so it was a worthwhile venture to fund.
Mr Manu told GIMPA’s workers and management that their doors were open for potential partnerships.
The Chairman encouraged Management to retain the facility in good working order so that it will continue to fulfill its intended function for a long time.
“We will order a repair schedule from them, just as we do from all of our beneficiaries. They’ll form a management committee, with MTN staff members as members, to assist with annual facilities assessments and maintenance,” he said.

Professor Martin Morgan Tuuli, GIMPA’s Deputy Rector, thanked MTN Ghana Foundation for the kind gesture, and shared his hope that more opportunities for cooperation between the two institutions would open up.
He believed that GIMPA was unusual in that it ensured that students mastered both academic and practical skills.
According to Professor Tuuli, the Lab will provide students with hands-on experience using tools to restore and create new devices.
He added that it will also serve as a foundation for the Centre to operate other programs such as telecommunications engineering to sustain existing ICT programs.
“In an era where technology is at the heart of everything we do,” he added, “this Lab will remain paramount to the School of Technology and its mission to manage Technology-related programs.”
He told the MTN Ghana Foundation that GIMPA will properly run the facility for the good of the country and future generations.
