“Service has now been restored after the earlier outage, and we sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding,” Zoom stated in a post on X around 2 p.m. Pacific Time.

The issues began around 11:40 a.m., as reported by The Verge, which referenced data from Cisco’s ThousandEyes platform. Users on social media indicated difficulties logging in and encountered an “Unable to Connect” error when trying to join meetings. The Zoom website was also down, along with its media inquiry inbox.
By noon, more than 59,000 users had reported problems on the outage-tracking site DownDetector.com.
The cause of the outage remains unclear. The Verge speculates it may have been DNS-related, citing a discussion on Reddit. When contacted for comment, a Zoom spokesperson directed TechCrunch to the aforementioned X post.
