The Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), Kofi Baah Agyepong, has announced his resignation, effective January 24, 2025.
In a letter addressed to President John Dramani Mahama, Agyepong cited personal commitments and aspirations as the driving force behind his decision.
“It has been an honour to lead the Youth Employment Agency over the past two years, but I must now step down to focus on personal commitments,” Agyepong stated in his resignation letter, while expressing confidence in the agency’s continued success.
Agyepong’s tenure was marked by impactful initiatives aimed at reducing youth unemployment and fostering skills development across Ghana.

Under his leadership, YEA implemented programs to equip young people with vocational and entrepreneurial skills, playing a vital role in tackling Ghana’s youth unemployment crisis.
The outgoing CEO assured stakeholders of a smooth transition, pledging to remain available for urgent matters requiring his attention.
With the agency at the forefront of addressing unemployment challenges, the government is yet to name a successor to fill the leadership void left by Agyepong’s departure.
His resignation comes at a critical time for the agency, which has been instrumental in creating opportunities for young Ghanaians.
