Minister of Health, Kwaku Agyemang Manu is encouraging Ghanaians to take the opportunity to go for their jabs as vaccine mandatory protocols will be introduced soon.
He notes that although taking covid-19 vaccines will not be forced on Ghanaians, very soon only fully vaccinated persons would be allowed to enter government facilities
He says this requirement would take effect as soon as a policy government was considering to mandate COVID-19 vaccination was brought to force.
Mr. Agyemang Manu, who made these statements at a press soiree in Accra also indicated that students in government schools would also be affected by this directive when the implementation of the policy begins.

Omicron
Kwaku Ayemang Manu also disclosed that although some cases of the Omicron variant had been recorded in Ghana, its effects on infected persons were not severe as feared.
He, however, urged the public not to be conceited but should continue to observe the COVID-19 protocols to limit the spread of the virus in the country.
He said that the government was fully focused on ensuring that every person in Ghana who meets the requirement to be vaccinated was to help curb the spread of the virus.
He added that as soon as lots of Ghanaians are vaccinated the government would put in measures to acquire COVID-19 booster shots.
Boosters
He said government will in the next two weeks decide if Ghanaians who have already had their Covid-19 jabs will get boosters.
He says the decision comes after some countries including the UK, Germany, France and even some African countries have introduced boosters as a way of raising the national Covid Alert Level because of rising rates of transmission of the virus especially the Omicron Variant.
Vaccine Stock
Ghana’s Vaccines Stock now stands at about twenty-four million with just about eight million doses being administered.
About six million people have received their first dose, while two point three million people are fully vaccinated.
On Monday, December 27, the United States donated an additional 1.7 million doses of Pfizer Covid-19 vaccines to Ghana under the COVAX initiative.
The donation which forms part of the pledge of the US government to donate 1.2 billion vaccines globally brings the total number of vaccine doses Ghana has received from the US to 7 million.
