The University of Cape Coast (UCC) is set to hold its 13th Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Lecture on the theme “Diaspora, Pan- Africanism, and Spiritual Awakening: Nkrumah’s Years Abroad and as Head of State.”
The Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Lectures are part of the efforts of the University of Cape Coast geared toward keeping alive the name of Nkrumah, and the flame he lit for Africa’s emancipation.
The speaker for the two-day lectures scheduled for Thursday, October 19 and Friday, October 20, 2023, is Professor Emmanuel Akeampong, an Ellen Gurney Professor of History and African American Studies at Harvard University.
After the second lecture on October 20, 2023, an Honorary Doctorate Degree will be conferred on the speaker.
The Memorial Lectures and Special Congregation will be held at the School of Graduate Studies (SGS) Auditorium, UCC at 10 a.m. each day.
