The School of Allied Health Sciences at the University of Cape Coast has held its annual Dean’s Awards ceremony to recognize the outstanding achievements of its students.
The event, held on 15th June 2023, showcased the remarkable talent and hard work displayed by students with high CGPA and also progressive students for their academic improvement.
A total of 37 students were selected for the prestigious Dean’s Awards based on their outstanding academic performance including progressive students.
Each student was presented with a personalized certificate of achievement and a token of appreciation for their remarkable accomplishments.
Additionally, 25 outstanding faculty members were also honoured with awards for their exceptional contributions to the field.
The chairperson of the awards ceremony and an Associate Professor at the Department of Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics, University of Cape Coast, Prof. Mrs. Christiana Naa Atsreh Nsiah-Asamoah revealed that this is the very first awards ceremony which also factored on rewarding progressive students for their improvement in academics.
“In this particular year, we also looked at students who have progressed from level 100 to 400. So, we looked at their CGPAs from level 100 to 400 and looked at the students who have made tremendous progression and also awarded students for each department in level 400.”
Meanwhile, a level 200 student from the Medical Laboratory Science Department, Raymond Owusu Ansah was awarded the overall best student for the level 100 category.
Raymond stated that it took hard work and determination to emerge successful in his studies.
He, therefore, advised his colleagues to overlook the difficulties they may face in their studies and make determination a friend in their academic pursuit towards excellence.
