The University of Cape Coast (UCC) has matriculated into its 2021/2022 distance mode 9,424 fresh students with a call on them to welcome their admission as paramount to achieving higher education feats.
Three cohorts comprising 213 cadet officers from the Ghana Police Academy, 43 health professionals, and 9,168 students were admitted to pursue undergraduate and postgraduate programs in peace and security, health, education, business, and social sciences through the distance mode.
Delivering the Vice-Chancellor’s address, the Pro-Vice Chancellor, Professor Mrs. Rosemond Boohene congratulated the fresh students indicating that gaining admission into the university of cape coast to obtain a ‘prestigious and enviable degree’ is not an easy achievement.
She thus urged them to study hard and strictly observe the rules and regulations governing the University.
She emphasized saying “these rules and regulations are not for the purposes of punishing you; they are meant to bring order and harmony in the university and make your life and study more enjoyment as well as enable students, staff, and residents of the university to function effectively.”
She assured that the University is ready to support them throughout their study on campus.
Meanwhile, Professor Mrs. Rosemond Boohene revealed that the peace and security programme is a special postgraduate programme designed for the 213 cadet officers from the Ghana Police Academy.
She notes that the training of the officers comprising 189 males and 24 females is essential even as the country continuously builds its capacity to combat the possible insecurities in Ghana and on the African continent as a whole.
She added that UCC will continue to expand and introduce more academic programs.
