The Management of the University of Cape Coast has refuted the claim that part of the Ghana Police Promotional Examination Questions written on February 13, 2023, were leaked to candidates who sat for the exams.

This response from the management of the university follows a news item aired on Adom TV, Badwam show on Wednesday 22nd February 2023.

The news item purported that the questions for the Police Promotional Examination organized by the Department of Forensic Sciences of the University of Cape Coast leaked before the Exams were written.

Refuting this assertion in a statement dated February 27, 2023, management indicated that no part of the said exams was leaked to any candidate.

The statement which was signed by the Director of Public Affairs of the university, Major Rtd Kofi Baah-Bentum also said the University is privy to the hand-written extract that was shown to viewers during the programme adding that a careful analysis of the material exhibited shows some inconsistencies in comparison with the test item that was administered to the candidates during the exams.

According to the university, the purported material being shown around as a leaked paper has no question attached to it, and the university finds it strange that the material said to have been leaked appeared two days after the examination.

The statement further mentioned that the claim by the Host of the show that some candidates were calling for remarking of their scripts is not tenable because the results are yet to be released.

Therefore, according to the university, the allegation of the supposed leakage begs the question.

Meanwhile, the management of the University of Cape Coast says it is regrettable that the media house did not contact the University for its side of the story contrary to the ethics of journalism.

It further assured cherished stakeholders and the general public that the university holds dear to its acclaimed brand as an excellent academic institution and so would not do anything unusual to tarnish its hard-won reputation and thus they should disregard the malicious publication.
