The Centre for International Education (CIE), University of Cape Coast has made a donation to support international students of the university who are currently on campus.
With the closure of schools and universities across the country as a measure against the spread of coronavirus, the international students have remained on campus due to the closure of Ghana’s borders.
The items presented to them included nose masks, hand sanitizers, water and shopping vouchers.

In a short ceremony to present the items, the Pro Vice Chancellor of UCC, Prof. Dora Edu-Buandoh noted that the kind gesture was to make their stay more comfortable in the face of the pandemic.
She also revealed that about 62 UCC students on an educational program in Togo have also been locked up in the country as a result of the closure of borders.
The Pro-VC therefore encouraged them to take advantage of the virtual learning platforms to study during the period and also observe the protective protocols to avoid contracting the virus.
The CIE’s donation followed an earlier interaction with the students which saw the necessity to present the items.
Present at the ceremony were the Dean of CIE-UCC, Prof. Kwaku Boakye as well as some staff of the Centre.
