Man Utd Players May Go to Serie A
Manchester United is trying to move some players around to pay for new ones. Two big names are being linked to teams in Italy. United spent a lot—£142 million—when they bought these players, and now they’re getting offers from Serie A teams.
After loaning Antony, who cost £86 million, to Real Betis, United is now talking to Roma about a loan for Casemiro. The Daily Mail reports Roma sees Casemiro as a potential backup if Leandro Paredes leaves.
Also, Napoli and Juventus are keeping an eye on 21-year-old striker Rasmus Hojlund. He hasn’t scored in his last 11 games and is basically on trial for the season under Amorim. If they decide to sell him, United could lose a lot of money since they bought him from Atalanta.
New Faces at Old Trafford
Even with some players possibly leaving, United is looking to add to the team. Patrick Dorgu, a Danish wing-back from Lecce, is set to be Amorim’s first pick, with a £30 million deal in the works.
The club is also in talks to bring in 18-year-old center-back Ayden Heaven from Arsenal. Heaven has only played once for the Gunners, and he might join either the main team or the youth setup. Last year, they got 17-year-old striker Chido Obi-Martin from Arsenal too.
Al-Hilal Wants Mohamed Salah
Mohamed Salah’s future with Liverpool is making headlines. His contract ends this season, meaning he could leave for free.
Reports say Al-Hilal from the Saudi Pro League is leading the race to sign him. They just let Neymar go, giving them money to get Salah. He won’t be leaving in January, but Al-Hilal hopes to seal the deal before the Club World Cup in June. They might even ask for special permission to register him early.
Graham Arnold Eyes Motherwell Job
Graham Arnold, the former coach of the Australian national team, wants to get back into club management. He’s interested in becoming the head coach of Motherwell in Scotland.
According to the Motherwell Times, Arnold has been out of work since stepping down in September. Now he’s one of the candidates to replace Stuart Kettlewell, who just resigned.
Motherwell is currently fifth in the Premiership. Kettlewell left for personal reasons, as his family was affected by personal abuse.
Arnold will face tough competition for the job. Falkirk’s John McGlynn and former Hearts coach Steven Naismith are also in the running. Both are favorites, according to the bookies.
With the transfer window closing soon, teams are making some last-minute moves while coaching changes are shaking things up in football.
