A 20-year-old National Vocational Training Institute (NVTI) student from Bole in the Savannah Region has escaped a kidnapping attempt.
According to him, the suspects took him from his school grounds on Sunday during supper.
In an interview with Adom News’ Rebecca Nantomah, the victim described his trauma, saying the suspects hit him on the neck, knocking him out.
He awoke at the Bole royal cemetery, only to be approached by two guys who asked for a phone number to call in order to demand ransom.

However, he contacted his classmates to tell them about the situation, and when one of the suspects thought that he [the victim] had called for aid, he went to see who it may be.
This he perceived as an opportunity to flee for his life, resulting in a fight with the second suspect, whom he managed to overcome and flee back to his school.
Speaking about the event, Alhassan Salifu, the principal of Bole NVTI, said students are now living in fear since they occasionally leave the school grounds in search of water.
As a result, he has asked the government to increase security and police patrols near the school.
