Potter knows the January transfer window is tricky. He said, “I don’t expect much to happen in January. It’s a tough time to make changes. I want to focus on the players we have now and stay open to any chances that come up.”
He highlighted the need to make quick choices and fit the team’s strengths. For him, it’s all about helping the current players grow and making the most of what’s already there.
A Fresh Start After Chelsea
This is Potter’s first job since he was let go by Chelsea in April 2023. At Chelsea, he struggled with a large squad that was pieced together in a busy transfer period. Fans didn’t fully accept him, even after he did well at Brighton.
He spent 21 months away from management, turning down jobs with Ajax and reportedly the England national team. Looking back, he said, “I’ve learned to trust myself and not worry about what others think. I’ve built good relationships with players and staff over the years, which gives me confidence.”
