Afiba Dadzie, former western regional director of Ghana education service has encouraged parents to educate themselves about the nuances associated with social media.
Speaking at the annual achievements day organized by the sanctuary Montessori in the Takoradi on the theme, celebrating excellence influence and impact; said to parents that it is the only way to keep pace with one’s kid’s use of social media.
Kids of Sanctuary Montessori used the day to exhibit talents in co-curricular activities such as dancing, drumming, spoken word, swimming, and ballet dancing among others.
Dora Afua Yawson, head of the sanctuary Montessori explained they have a special interest in the development of craftsmanship.
According to her, some kids are not the book type however, they are very good at creating things.
As such she said the school tries to do a holistic assessment to see what other strengths the kids have beyond reading.
She added that when such wide opportunities are presented to the kids, they naturally gravitate towards their preferences and this guides them to realize their unique potential.
