Alexander Kwabena Sarfo Kantanka, the nominee for Chief Executive of the Juaben Municipal Assembly, has been charged with 26 counts of corruption by the Office of the Special Prosecutor.
According to the OSP, the allegations stem from two public elections held in September and November 2021 to determine whether or not his appointment should be confirmed.

Mr Sarfo Kantanka will be charged before the High Court criminal division in Kumasi on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, according to an OSP statement released on Tuesday, May 24.
On Monday, November 1, 2021, assembly members in the Juaben Municipality in the Ashanti region rejected the President’s choice for the second time, causing near-pandemonium in Juaben.
