The National Identification Authority (NIA) has reaffirmed that the first issuance of the Ghana Card remains free at its 276 Operational District Offices across the country.
However, individuals opting to register at the NIA’s Premium Centers will be required to pay a fee of GH₵310.00.
In a public notice, the NIA outlined its approved fees and charges for various services, as sanctioned by Parliament in 2023.
Card replacement at district offices costs GH₵125.00, while the same service at Premium Centers is GH₵420.00, Updating records without a card replacement is free at district offices but costs GH₵310.00 at Premium Centers.
The cost of updating records with card replacement is GH₵60.00 at district offices and GH₵355.00 at Premium Centres. Nationality updates cost GH₵70.00 at district offices and GH₵365.00 at Premium Centres.
The NIA has urged the public to report any official charging fees beyond the approved rates.
