A handover ceremony has been held at the School of Educational Development and Outreach (SEDO) at the University of Cape Coast to usher in its new dean, Professor Christine Adu-Yeboah who takes over from Professor George K. T. Oduro.

Before being sworn in as the Dean of the school, she was the Director of the Institute of Education.

Speaking to ATL FM NEWS, the new dean, Prof. Christine Adu-Yeboah pledged to ensure that high-quality activities are organized in SEDO during her tenure of office to ensure that the image of the University of Cape Coast is raised further.

According to her, this is her vision as she serves her first term of three years.

“As the new dean, my vision is to ensure that the activities we do are of good quality to raise the image of the University.” She said

Wishing the new Dean success, Professor George K. T. Oduro, the immediate past Dean expressed his appreciation to members of the school urging them to always treasure the vision and values of the school as they discharge their duties.

“I pray that the dean will move beyond individuals and look at the collectivity in everything that she does. I wish her success.” He said.

Meanwhile, new leadership for the school was reconstituted with Dr. Christopher Yaw Kwaah as the Vice-Dean; Dr. Bernard Yaw Sekyi Acquah, Director Centre for Teacher Professional Development (CTPD), and Professor Eric Anane, Director Institute of Education.

CoDE gets a new provost

The new Provost of the College of Distance Education (CoDE) at the University of Cape Coast, Professor Anokye Mohammed Adam has called for the maximum support of the management of the University as he works to advance the frontiers of the College.

According to him, the support of management in addition to other stakeholders is very much needed to realize the number of issues he believes the College must deal with in order to survive turbulent times.

“The first thing is bringing quality in the delivery of our services. I’m expecting that we implement what we call the service delivery chatter which will prescribe what our client and stakeholders should expect from us and the timelines align with it. Again, I also want to implement a policy that will govern the development of our learning management and teaching and learning resources that is the modules, and lecture notes. I also have plans of digitalizing….so we need to digitalize part of our teaching and learning process because we do not know when the next covid will strike again.”

Professor Adam made the call while speaking to ATL FM NEWS at a handover ceremony held by the College of Distance Education where he took over the new position from Professor Isaac Galyoun.

On his part, the immediate past Provost, Professor Isaac Galyoun stressed the need for the University of Cape Coast to put up more facilities in the regions to support Distance Education.

The Pro Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast, Professor Rosemond Boohene urged the entire staff of CoDE to support the new Provost and his team to work to achieve the vision of the College.

A handover ceremony was also held for Heads of Programmes at the College.
