The blood bank facility built and furnished by MTN Ghana Foundation for the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital (CCTH) has increased the services the hospital offers to its patients.
The Acting Chief Executive Officer of the hospital, Dr. Stephen Laryea made this known when the MTN Ghana Foundation paid a courtesy call on the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital.
Speaking to the media after the visit, Dr. Laryea indicated that “Since the blood bank came, we are now able to mobilize blood more effectively with more convenient place for donors to come and be able to donate blood. It has helped in the availability of blood for emergencies and for maternity which consumes the highest amount of blood at the hospital.”

The fully furnished Ultramodern Blood Bank facility worth 300,000.00 was established by the MTN Ghana Foundation for CCTH in 2021 to help increase the pace of services of the hospital to the region and beyond.
On his part, the Senior Manager of MTN Ghana Foundation for Central and Western Region, Prince Owusu Nyarko said the foundation deemed the visit necessary as a way to ascertain how best the facility is being utilized and get to know its current state.
