The Paramount Queen Mother of the Mankessim Traditional Area, Nana Ama Amissah III, has pledged her full commitment to the responsibilities entrusted to her following her recent appointment to the newly inaugurated 13-member Ghana Gold Board.
In an exclusive interview, Nana Ama Amissah III described her nomination as an honor and extended her profound appreciation to President John Dramani Mahama for the confidence reposed in her.
“I wish to express my sincere gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama for the honour done me to serve as a member of the Ghana Gold Board,” she said.
The board, inaugurated by the Finance Minister on May 19, 2025, is tasked with spearheading the President’s vision of revitalizing Ghana’s gold economy and ensuring greater transparency, sustainability, and community participation in the gold sector.
Nana Ama Amissah III, who is also the founder of a philanthropic organization, shared her extensive contributions to health and social development in the Mankessim area.
She recounted major initiatives undertaken through her foundation, including the provision of a 25,000-litre water tank with a solar-powered mechanized borehole system for the Mankessim Maternity Hospital.
Additionally, she facilitated a partnership with the Pacific Foundation to redevelop the old OPD building into a maternal and child welfare clinic with an administrative office at the Mankessim Health Centre.
“Through my foundation, I successfully facilitated surgeries for over 450 obstetric fistula patients and implemented the Fistula “Eni Dado Project” to provide post-surgery vocational training for women recovering from obstetric fistula,” she stated.
