Social media app, Twitter, which is an American based microblogging and social networking service has suspended the main Twitter account of one of its users, KalyJay, who also doubles as the originator and convener of the #FixTheCountry campaign currently trending in Ghana.
The past few weeks have been a momentous period for Ghanaians amidst calls for a better nation in terms of the provision of basic social amenities from government and to also fight corruption among many other things.

The hashtag, #fixthecountry which was initially meant to be a clarion call for the government to deal with issues in his (Kalyjay) own vicinity blew out of its shell and the frenzy caught up with hundreds of thousands of users on Twitter who were obviously not happy with the turnout of events in the country and have since used the hashtag which is currently trending.
For some unknown reasons, the Twitter account of Kalyjay, the originator of #fixthecountry has been suspended. ATL FM News is still doing more investigations to ascertain the exact reason behind his account withdrawal.
A backup account is currently being used by Boye-Doe.
On May 11, 2021, rumours were rife that the convener had asked for prayers in the face of mounting pressure.
Interestingly, he is still operating under a different account with the same name, Kalyjay. He has a new account, with about 19.1k followers.
The Ghana Police Service through the courts blocked a planned demonstration originally scheduled for May 9, 2021.
Interestingly, a number of celebrities who seem to side with the hashtag have also joined the bandwagon. Among the celebrities that have joined are Yvonne Nelson, John Dumelo, Serwa Amihere, Efia Odo, Okese 1 among others. On the other hand, celebrities like Prince David Osei, Kuami Eugene, Dada KD and Afia Schwarzenegger have also asked the populace to also fix their attitude before they ask the government to fix the country.
