The Institute of Education at the University of Cape Coast has held a 2-day Assessment and Management Workshop for all sixteen Colleges of Education affiliated to the University.
The workshop, which brought together senior management members, representatives of each of the sixteen affiliate colleges, was to share a common vision and understanding of the best practices of running their respective colleges.
The Director of the Institute of Education, Professor Christine Adu-Yeboah in an interview with ATLFMNEWS said the workshop was deemed necessary because it formed part of the University’s mentoring role for the colleges of education in the country.
She indicated that it is the expectation of the University’s management that all the colleges mirror its standard of quality practices.
“We are assisting the colleges to do things the way we do it here at the University of Cape Coast in terms of teaching, management, assessment, and everything the university of cape coast does; we want to bring the colleges up to that level,” she intimated.
Prof. Adu-Yeboah further added that the workshop has become needful as a way of bridging the gap of proper methods of assessing college students and teachers in all the affiliate colleges.
Dean of the Students’ Affairs of UCC, Professor Eugene Marfo Dartey, on his part, urged the participants, especially the college principals to make conscious efforts to put in place measures to embrace the changes that the upgrade in the colleges will come with.
