The Inspector General of Police (IGP), George Akuffo Dampare, has held a meeting with NDC and NPP executives to ensure successful by-elections.
At the meeting, the executives tabled their concerns before the IGP emphasizing the need for proper security arrangements and law enforcement to aid in preventing election malpractices and ensuring a successful election.
They also expressed their viewpoints, their expectations, and other matters of concern.
The meeting aimed at promoting understanding, dialogue, and cooperation between the political parties and the police force.
On his part, the IGP emphasized the need for neutrality, impartiality, and transparency in the whole electoral process scheduled to take place on June 27.

Both political parties also assured that they will do their part to ensure a peaceful election takes place.
The three contesting the Member of Parliament seat include James Gyakye Quayson for the NDC, Charles Opoku for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), and Bernice Enyonam Sefenu on the ticket of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG).
The NPP and NDC concluded their intense campaigns at the Assin North Constituency over the weekend.
