The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has announced a comprehensive reshuffle of top command positions within the Ghana Police Service to enhance operational efficiency and strategic leadership.
In a press release dated March 19, 2025 by the Director of Public Affairs, ACP Grace Ansah-Akrofi, the IGP unveiled the newly reconstituted Police Management Board, naming 31 senior officers to new leadership roles across various departments and regional commands.
The shake-up affects Commissioners of Police (COP), Deputy Commissioners (DCOP), Assistant Commissioners (ACP), and Chief Superintendents (C/Supt), with the aim of strengthening management control and improving service delivery.
Among the notable appointments are:
COP/Maame Yaa Tiwa Addo-Danquah as Director-General, Research & Planning
COP/Dr. Sayibu Pabi Gariba as Director-General, Technical
DCOP/Ms. Lydia Yaako Donkor as Director-General, Criminal Investigations Department (CID)
DCOP/Dr. David Agyeman Adjem as Director-General, Administration
ACP/Grace Ansah-Akrofi retains her role as Director of Public Affairs
Regional commands also saw changes, including:
DCOP/Mr. Duuti Tuaruka for Ashanti Region
DCOP/Dr. Francis Kwame Tsidi for Western North Region
ACP/Mr. Wisdom Lavoe for Northern Region
ACP/Mr. Wisdom Akorli for Volta Region
The IGP commended the affected officers for their service and urged them to bring renewed energy and dedication to their new roles. “The IGP wishes all the officers well in their new roles,” the statement said.
