The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has assured residents in the Central Region that the construction of an airport in Cape Coast will begin next year.
According to the President, consultants have been engaged and reports have already been presented to the Ministry of transport.
“I am now waiting for the draft feasibility report to be completed…
Fortunately for you, the airport is also being undertaken by a Minister from this area, Asiamah who is the minister of transport is the one responsible”, he said.
The President who is currently in the Central Region on a two-day tour as part of his annual working visits to all the sixteen regions of Ghana, said the promise to construct an airport in Cape Coast is a promise bound to happen and that plans are ongoing to have it accomplished
The commitment to build the airport in Cape Coast is hundred percent. Work is ongoing and very soon just as we have seen, Wa has been completed, Ho has been completed, and Sunyani is almost completed. Cape Coast will also get its airport. It is not a commitment that has been forgotten” he reiterated.
