Ferdinand: Rashford Needs a Change
Rashford hasn’t played for Manchester United since December 12. Manager Ruben Amorim seems to not have him in his plans. Rashford was seen watching the match against Rangers from the stands, which shows he’s out of the loop. Ferdinand told TNT Sport that a move might be what Rashford needs.
“I think this shows what the club is looking to do. They want to move him on,” Ferdinand said. “He needs a new club, a new place. When he started, he played with so much joy—he was scoring goals and having fun. But I haven’t seen that joy in a long time. It might be time for him to go for everyone’s sake.”
Garnacho’s Future Is Unclear Too
Unlike Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho played the full 90 minutes in the game against Rangers. But now there’s talk about his future, with Chelsea reportedly interested in him. Fans cheered for Garnacho during the match, but Ferdinand thinks that might not be enough to keep him in Amorim’s plans.
“The fans love him, and there’s no doubt he’s talented,” Ferdinand said. “But Amorim’s system may not fit Garnacho. Amorim likes wingers to play inside, not wide. This could be why the club might consider offers for him. I don’t think Garnacho wants to leave; it seems the club is open to it.”
Amorim on Garnacho
Ruben Amorim spoke about the rumors regarding Garnacho. He assured everyone that Garnacho is part of Manchester United’s plans. “He’s here; he’s a player for Manchester United,” Amorim said after the Rangers match. “He was really important tonight.”
Still, the future of both Rashford and Garnacho is up in the air as January approaches. Moves could be on the way for these two talented players.
