For the umpteenth time, rumors about the death of veteran Nigerian actor, Olu Jacobs has spread across Nigerian social media on the afternoon of Sunday, June 30, 2024.
As revealed by his actress wife, Joke Silva, during a January 2023 episode of Mercy Johnson’s Mercy’s Menu, Jacobs is currently battling dementia.
Silva has entrusted Jacobs’ health to God through prayers and has also incorporated herbal medicine into his care routine.

Despite her revelation last year, false reports about the death of Olu Jacobs has resurfaced again on social media.
Responding to the latest rumors, colleague thespian, Kate Henshaw has confirmed that Jacobs is indeed alive and well, expressing her dismay over the ongoing falsehoods about the actor’s death.
“📌📌📌📌📌📌📌📌📌📌IT IS SICKENING TO SEE RIP POSTS ABOUT SOMEONE WHO IS STILL ALIVE YEAR AFTER YEAR!!! YOU DO THIS TO THIS GREAT MAN AND HIS FAMILY ALL THE TIME!! IT IS ALL SHADES OF WRONG!! STOP IT FOR GOODNESS’ SAKE!! UNCLE OLU JACOBS IS ALIVE!!!” she said.

His wife and veteran Nollywood actress Joke Silva has also firmly addressed the recent death rumors, clarifying to TheNEWS and PMNEWS that her husband, Olu Jacobs, is “alive and well.”
This latest wave of false reports follows a similar pattern from 2022, when rumors emerged after Jacobs celebrated his 80th birthday, prompting Silva to consider legal action against those spreading misinformation.
