In a remarkable display of philanthropy and community service, the Member of Parliament for Cape Coast North, Dr. Kwamena Minta Nyarku has taken a significant step towards enhancing the wellbeing and safety at the University of Cape Coast Hospital.
He donated streetlights, Wellington boots, cutlasses, rolling walkers, and other non-medical hospital supplies such as gloves, stethoscopes, bandages, diapers, and nose masks to the hospital.
The provision of streetlights, in particular, addresses a crucial aspect of public safety, ensuring well-lit streets around the hospital.
Mr. Mintah Nyarku emphasized that the donation is aimed at supporting healthcare and community development which is hinged on one of his visions for the constituency.
He expressed the need to support health facilities within his constituency to improve health delivery, especially to students and the entire university community.
Speaking to ATL FM after the donation, he said following a request by a friend to light up the hospital’s car park he donated four street lights instead of the initially suggested two.
Director of the University Hospital, Dr. James Kojo Prah who received the items, on behalf of the hospital, expressed his heartfelt gratitude and commended him for his unwavering commitment to improving healthcare accessibility in the constituency.
He also appealed for a generator for the hospital and indicated that he wanted an ICU centre at the hospital.
The MP for Cape Coast North, Dr. Kwamena Minta Nyarku responded to this, saying “We will also be working and talking to other people that we think could support.”
