Following a Memorandum of Understanding between the Union and the Government, the Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG) has called off its strike.
A statement signed by Isaac Bampoe Addo, Executive Secretary of CLOGSAG on Thursday, January 20 said “The National Executive Council (NEC) of Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG) at its meeting held on Thursday 20th January 2022 had reviewed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Government and CLOGSAG.
“The National Executive Council (NEC) of CLOGSAG has therefore decided to call off the strike. All members should organize themselves and resume work on Monday, January 24.”
The Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC) previously said in a statement on Thursday, January 20, that the Government had approved aspects of the CLOGSAG’s requests, which resulted in their strike action.
The FWSC said “Yesterday government reached an agreement with the leadership of the Civil and Local Government Service Association Ghana (CLOGSAG) which culminated in the signing of an MoU.
CLOGSAG began a nationwide strike today, Thursday, January 20, 2022, to demand improved working conditions.
Despite repeated warnings, the Association claims that more than a year after their proposed pay structure was delivered to the Finance Ministry for consideration, they have failed to interact with them.
