The Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly has on Monday 14th February, handed over a newly built Community Health Planning and Services (CHPS) facility at Kakumdo, a suburb of Cape Coast to health officials with a call on them to ensure a good maintenance culture and care towards patients.
The facility was funded by the Coastal Development Authority (CoDA) in collaboration with the Kakumdo Traditional Council.
Handing over the facility, the Metropolitan Chief Executive of Cape Coast, Hon. Ernest Arthur admonished health officers to take care of the facility and urged them to show compassion while treating patients.

On the issue of developing the metropolis, Mayor Ernest Arthur urged the town’s people to contribute their quota to its development by paying their property rates.
He emphasized, “we want development, we want to see improvement in our sanitation, educational system and all of those, we need money to do that so please our shortcode is still available for you to pay your property rates just dial *389*873#.”
