The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has advised the NPP’s running mate Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh to exhibit humility as he joins the flagbearer ahead of the general election, emphasizing it as crucial for their compatibility and the party’s progress.
This counsel came after President Akufo-Addo introduced Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh as the running mate to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia at Manhyia in the Ashanti Region today.
During the event, Asantehene recounted supporting Dr. Opoku Prempeh through school, including paying his fees, and acknowledged his achievements.
Addressing rumors about the Energy Minister’s alleged arrogance, he questioned their validity based on his personal experience with him, and also urged Dr. Prempeh to ensure Dr. Bawumia never regrets choosing him as his running mate.
President Akufo-Addo, in turn, expressed deep admiration for Dr. Bawumia’s humility and support throughout their tenure, highlighting his readiness to lead the nation as the NPP aims to ‘Break the 8’.
He also expressed confidence in Dr. Bawumia’s potential to surpass his administration’s achievements and transform Ghana.
