Everton Fires Sean Dyche After Rough Premier League Season
Everton is having a tough time this season. They’ve only won one of their last 11 matches and just three games overall. Right now, they are only one point above the relegation zone. In a last-minute move, the club let go of manager Sean Dyche just hours before their FA Cup game against Peterborough. This change comes only 21 days after new American owners, The Friedkin Group (TFG), took over the club. Everton Sack Sean Dyche.

Finding a New Manager
TFG did not waste any time looking for Dyche’s replacement. They first talked to Graham Potter before he moved to West Ham. Now, David Moyes, who used to manage Everton, is the top choice to return to the club after leaving for Manchester United 12 years ago.
Reports say that talks about Dyche’s sacking had been going on for a few days. They were trying to settle on his pay-off. Dyche’s contract was ending in the summer, but TFG found his demands too high. The new owners are focused on financial health and made a firm decision to part ways with him.
A Tough Time for Dyche
During his nearly two years at Everton, Dyche had some ups and downs. He helped the team avoid relegation a couple of times, including a dramatic last-day escape. But his record shows struggles: 21 wins, 23 draws, and 30 losses in 74 matches. This season, Everton has only scored 15 goals in 20 games, with only Southampton doing worse.
A New Direction
TFG wants to turn Everton around after years of spending too much under the previous owner, Farhad Moshiri. This led to points being taken away last season for breaking spending rules. With a new stadium planned to open next season, Everton can’t afford to fight for survival again.
Interim Managers
For the FA Cup match against Peterborough, Leighton Baines, who coaches the under-18 team, along with injured captain Seamus Coleman, has stepped in as interim managers. Everton confirmed Dyche’s departure along with his staff: Ian Woan, Steve Stone, Mark Howard, and Billy Mercer.
TFG’s quick decisions are similar to what they did at Roma, where they made bold moves, even letting go of Jose Mourinho shortly after he won a trophy. Everton is at a crucial point now. They need a new manager to help bring stability and success back to the club.
