The leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced the forfeiture of party membership for Hopeson Adorye, Yaw Buaben Asamoa, Nana Ohene Ntow, and Boniface Abubakar Saddique.
This decision comes as a result of their violation of the Party’s Constitution, specifically Articles 3(5)(A)(4) and 3(9)(1).
According to a statement issued on November 20 by Justin Kodua Erimpong, the NPP General Secretary, the party stressed that all members are required to “abide by and publicly uphold the decisions of the Party” in line with the NPP Constitution.
Additionally, as per Article 3(9)(1) of the Constitution, any member of the Party who stands as an independent candidate against the officially elected member of the Party, or who joins or declares support for another Political Party, automatically forfeits their membership of the Party.
The leadership highlighted the recent actions of the four members, including the public endorsement of a presidential candidate other than the officially elected candidate, His Excellency Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia, as grounds for their forfeiture of party membership.
Consequently, the NPP has declared that Hopeson Adorye, Yaw Buaben Asamoa, Nana Ohene Ntow, and Boniface Abubakar Saddique have automatically forfeited their membership within the Party and are no longer considered members.”
