Executive Chairman of ABN David Law, David Ofosu-Dorte, has emphasized the urgent need for a reliable and expanded power system to support Ghana’s proposed 24-hour economy policy.
Speaking at the Joint News and Amalgamated Professional Bodies Speaker Series, Mr. Ofosu-Dorte underscored the critical role of consistent energy supply in driving industrialization and sustaining around-the-clock economic activities.
He argued that the current installed power capacity of 6,000 megawatts is inadequate for Ghana’s industrial ambitions, noting “A country cannot industrialize with 6,000 megawatts of power, period.”
Mr. Ofosu-Dorte maintained that a robust energy infrastructure is not only essential for the success of the 24-hour economy policy but also for the broader transformation agenda of the country.
