Green Stone International Developers, constructors of 16km of the inner-city road project in Cape Coast say works will be completed by the first quarter of this year.
Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, on the 21st of November, 2019 cut sod for the construction of the 30km Inner City Roads in Cape Coast.
Works on the 30km road in the communities in Cape Coast involve drainage, earthworks, and bituminous asphaltic surfacing. Under the Project, the roads are to be rehabilitated and upgraded to improve accessibility and quality of life. Communities to benefit from the project include Akotokyir, Kwaprow, Amamoma, Abura new community, English Arabic Area, PPAG area, Amisano, Besakrom, Dunkwakrom, Eyifua, and Kakumdo.
The project Supervisor on site, Divine Norvieto told ATLFMNEWS the 16km stretch his company is working on will be completed by March 2022. He said this would ease traffic on the roads.
He added the employment of local labour has largely supported in reducing the unemployment situation in the metropolis.
Construction of the Cape Coast Inner City roads is under the Ghana-Sinohydro Infrastructure for Bauxite arrangement.
