Following a communal conflict last week in Wenchike, police in Chereponi in the North East Region have detained 10 people.

Motorbikes ,other property and over 25 houses were burnt. Four fatalities were also reported.
The National Disaster Management Office said that the violence has forced over 600 individuals to flee their homes. Schools are still closed since the community is deserted.
Speaking to JoyNews, the District Chief Executive, Hajia Zuweiratu Nashiru, said the 10 suspects had been remanded for two weeks to reappear in court.
The DCE assured that the suspects will be made to face the law if found guilty.
