Henry Morgan Cofie-Squire, chief executive officer of Mind Inventa, an organization that seeks to help and support a ‘hard-core’ group of people paying hefty prices for ‘poor’ decisions they made in the past, says a person’s belief affects how they behave, perform, and whether they achieve their goals.
According to him, an individual’s chance of success is about how much they believe in their ability rather than what they can do adding that a mindset is a set of beliefs a person holds about himself or herself that affects their thinking, feeling, and behavior.
Speaking to ATL FM and TVUCC on the sidelines of a two-day workshop organized by Mind Inventa with the collaboration of Services Master under the theme “Change your mindset, transform your community in Cape Coast, he said most people, opt for education solely for the purpose of gaining income or wealth.
However, he adds that there is the need to renew the mindset of people and tune it into the direction of impacting society with gained knowledge.
Mr. Cofie-Squire said the whole idea about sustainable education is to ensure that whatever people have achieved in education, they are able to go back into the community and improve and transform their community.
“Otherwise it becomes a very selfish motive that people are only interested in educating themselves to make money out of it…but think of it this way, you get the education you look at your selfishness, and all around you, everything is crumbling. I don’t think it does well for any society or community.” He said
He further stated that it behooves every individual in a given society to give back to that society indicating that one must recognize the perspective of giving back.
