After hitting the stage at the Beach, Please! Festival on Romania’s Black Sea Coast on Sunday, American rapper Wiz Khalifa was captured by Romanian police.
Following his performance, the 36-year-old rapper was accused of possessing illegal drugs, according to Agence France Presse.
“During a performance at a music festival held in the resort of Costinesti, the accused was found to have possessed more than 18 grams of cannabis and to have consumed (on stage) another quantity in the form of a handmade cigarette,” stated in a statement released on Sunday by the Romanian anti-organized crime prosecutors (DIICOT), as reported by AFP.
In Romania, cannabis is regarded as a “risk drug,” and possession of the drug carries a maximum ten-year prison sentence.
Social media users have been sharing videos showing the “Black and Yellow” rapper smoking live as well as another one of him being led out of the venue by police.

“Last nights show was amazing. I didn’t mean any disrespect to the country of Romania by lighting up on stage,” Wiz wrote on his X account Sunday morning. “They were very respectful and let me go. I’ll be back soon. But without a big ass joint next time.”
According to a source close to the AFP, Khalifa and other individuals were brought in for interrogation. Although he was charged, he was not detained by the police.
According to reports, an investigation is still going on.
Khalifa admitted to Skinbone in recent months that he smokes up to thirty blunts every day. The rapper also acknowledged that, when under the influence of marijuana, he attends his son’s parent-teacher conferences, according to an interview with Alex Cooper of Call Her Daddy.
