YouTube said on Monday that it is testing a new method of fan interaction by allowing creators to leave voice notes and respond to comments on their videos.
For the time being, only a select few American creators are able to provide voice remarks. According to YouTube, they will only be able to publish these voice comments on their own channels via the iOS YouTube app.
When responding to a comment, creators who have this feature enabled can record their response by tapping on the new soundwave icon and then posting it as a comment.
ICYMT: Instagram now allows you to schedule direct messages.
Everyone will be able to hear voice comments, even if only a select few authors can post them. If users do not wish to listen the voice note, they can read the comment by clicking the transcript button below the voice note.
According to the corporation, the initiative should lead to “more meaningful relationships” between fans and creators in the future.
YouTube has concentrated on expanding its community and fan engagement tools this year. The platform began enabling producers to provide subscribers access to exclusive Shorts in March. The company launched a Discord-like area in a creator’s channel in September to facilitate conversations between fans—more especially, subscribers.
