Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, the minister of communications, has disclosed how she turned down the chance to pursue additional education at the esteemed Yale University in order to marry the man of her dreams.
Yale University is a private Ivy League research university in New Haven, Connecticut, USA. It was founded in 1701 and is considered one of the best institutions in the world.
The Minister, who is also the Ablekuma West Constituency’s Member of Parliament, emphasized the pressure single women experience in Ghanaian society and how they are labeled as “unwhole” simply because they are not with a man.

This, in her opinion, has a significant impact on women’s decision-making and encourages them to settle down in marriages solely in order to please family and friends.
Speaking at the 2023 International Women’s Day organized by eTranzact Ghana Ltd, Mrs. Owusu-Ekuful admitted that although it was crucial decision to choose marriage over education at Yale University, she has no regrets at all.
