The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has stated that all of its offices would close on Monday, March 20, 2023.
According to a public notice, the temporary shutdown is intended to perform a revenue mobilization exercise that will last a month and end on Thursday, April 20, 2023.
During this exercise, the ECG will concentrate on all types of customers that owe them money, including state-owned firms, with special teams monitoring and punishing consumers who seek to disrupt the exercise or engage in unlawful self-reconnection after being disconnected.
Except for customer service centers, the head office, regional and district offices will be affected to enable full involvement of management and personnel.

Customers are urged by the ECG to pay their bills on time to prevent termination and associated reconnecting penalties.
Customers who fail to pay their outstanding debts, even after being presented with a final demand letter, will face legal action, according to the firm.
The ECG also asked clients to pay their debts to the company as soon as possible since the company will not hesitate to punish any customer who fails to comply.
