Abdul-Razak Failatu, also known as Jah Bless Faila, has received financial support of GH₵30,000 from Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to help her in her ambitious ambition to break the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon.
Tamale native Jah Bless Faila is up against a tough five-day cooking challenge that calls for a large amount of food and cooking supplies. With her prompt payment, Dr. Bawumia hopes to support her efforts and reduce these expenses.
Jah Bless Faila received support on Monday in Tamale from Northern Regional Minister Alhaji Sani Alhasan Shaibu, who represented Dr. Bawumia, and Minister of State Dr. Amin Adam, the MP for Karaga. Later, Dr. Amin Adam used Facebook to post images from the occasion and beg people to support Faila in her incredible quest.

Dr. Bawumia personally encouraged Faila before her Monday, January 1 lunchtime kick-off, posting on his Facebook page: “Faila, I wish you all the best in your attempt to set a new world record with your cook-a-thon. It is possible to break the barrier and claim victory. Go for gold, Jah Bless!”
Dr. Bawumia has a history of helping young Ghanaians who aspire to achieve remarkable things. He had previously offered Afua Asantewaa the same backing when she attempted to set a new record for the longest singing marathon—she surprised the world by singing for an incredible 126 hours.
In addition to providing financial support, Dr. Bawumia was among the well-known individuals that visited Afua at the Sing-a-thon location (Akwaaba Village), expressing his undying support and personal cheering. Afua is presently awaiting formal word from Guinness World Records regarding her accomplishment.
Dr. Bawumia showed his unwavering support for Afua after her singing marathon by giving her and her spouse a one-week, all-expenses-paid holiday at the opulent Royal Senchi resort.
